In a memo to the airline’s managers, American says the changes “are related to normal business changes and aren’t specifically related to restructuring” of parent company AMR.

As for the route cuts, AA’s service to Burbank Bob Hope Airport will end Feb. 9. AA currently serves Burbank from its hub at Dallas/Fort Worth.

American says its service to New Delhi will end March 1. The airline currently flies to the Indian capital from its hub at Chicago O’Hare.

In the memo, AA says it’s dropping the New Delhi route based on “the historical financial performance of the route and its future outlook given the global economic climate and high oil prices … .”
